Job Summary
The West London Health Trust NHS (Forensic Service) consists of 3 main forensic receptions:
Men’s/Adolescent Low-Medium Secure
Women’s Enhanced Medium Secure Unit
All units are located on the St Bernard’s Hospital site.
The successful applicant will be expected to work in all 3 Sister Receptions on a rotational Day and Night basis, providing a wide range of Security, Reception, and Administrative duties.
Shift Types:
Long Days: 06:30 – 21:30 hrs
Cross Shift: 09:30 – 20:00 hrs
Flexi Shift: Hours dependent on service needs
Night Shift: 21:10 – 07:00 hrs

Main Duties of the Job
Security Duties Include:
Operation of Security Doors
Issuing and recording security items to staff
Accounting for all security items via audits at the start and end of each shift
Recording entry and exit times for service users/visitors
Booking in and out visitors per the Visitor Policy
Assisting in the search process for visitors and service users
Ensuring the security of the unit is never compromised
Maintaining confidentiality at all times
Administrative Duties Include:
Processing incoming and outgoing mail
Approving/reviewing visitor booking requests via online Exchange booking system
Accepting and redistributing deliveries
Handling general telephone inquiries (internal and external)
Providing information services to service users, visitors, and staff
General office duties

Essential:
Educated to GCSE level or higher (Grade C or above)
Desirable:
NVQ qualification
Experience
Essential:
At least 1 year as receptionist/front-of-house
Ability to sustain initiative under difficult circumstances
Understanding of equal opportunities

Previous NHS experience
Experience with mentally ill patients
2+ years as receptionist/front-of-house
Knowledge/Skills
Essential:
Knowledge of administrative procedures
Evidence of personal development
Ability to maintain developed systems
