Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
Help with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs, such as dementia care.
Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans.
Requirements
Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or hospice care is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medication administration protocols and first aid procedures.
Ability to manage behaviours associated with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
A caring attitude coupled with patience and empathy towards individuals requiring assistance.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in health or social care are an advantage but not essential.
