An exciting opportunity is available for a Clinical CAMHS Social Worker to join the Tri-borough CAMHS Alliance Service. This is a full-time, permanent Band 7 position, ideal for experienced Social Workers who have previously worked with young people and families in mental health settings.

Role Summary
As part of the CAMHS Alliance Crisis Team, you will support three key care pathways:
Acute Trust and out-of-hours service
Intensive Community Support / Home Treatment & Post A&E Review
Intensive Support / Home Treatment in conjunction with Tier 3 CAMHS, Tier 4 diversion, and Tier 4 step-down
You will work in a multi-disciplinary team, holding a clinical caseload and conducting comprehensive mental health assessments for children and young people in crisis. Responsibilities include risk assessments, management plans, and collaboration with CAMHS or paediatric teams in treatment planning.
Additional duties include:
Providing direct support to families and young people
Consulting with professionals, carers, and families
Delivering specialist mental health services across West London NHS Trust’s 3 Boroughs CAMH Service and crisis pathway
Essential Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Social Work
Active registration with Social Work England (SWE)
Accredited training in child and adolescent mental health
PEPS Stage 2 qualification
Training in prevention and management of violence and aggression
First or higher degree, or equivalent training and experience
Desirable Qualifications:
CYP IAPT training (CBT, Systemic Therapy, IPT)
Postgraduate qualifications (DBT, EMDR, Mindfulness, Mentalizing, etc.)
Working towards a master’s in a CAMHS-related field
Required Experience
Therapeutic work with children, adolescents, and families in a mental health setting
Experience in community CAMHS
Familiarity with clinic, school, home, and outreach settings
Skills in CBT, solution-focused therapy, and family work
Interagency and multidisciplinary collaboration
Risk assessment and management
Clinical supervision and reflective practice
Teaching or mentoring professionals
Desirable Experience:
Managing child protection emergencies
Working with families experiencing abuse or neglect
Audit or research participation
Service development contributions
Knowledge and Skills
Essential:
Knowledge of Children’s Act 2004, Mental Health Act 1983, and safeguarding
Awareness of consent, capacity, and legal considerations in child care
Understanding of assessment tools and Care Plan Approach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
Team collaboration and ability to work autonomously
Clinical supervision proficiency and emotional resilience
IT literacy
Desirable:
Skilled in working with difficult-to-engage families
Ability to handle challenging behaviour
