Job Summary
This is a new opportunity for a technically experienced, highly organised IT professional who is passionate about contributing to a healthier Wales. This role supports the Digital Technical Services Team and wider operational IT teams by managing complex infrastructure hardware and software replacement projects.
The Senior Digital Project Manager will liaise with business users, technical leads, and engineers to deliver service and security improvements. The scope of the role includes involvement with national and local IT projects, and implementation of cloud and AI services.
Public Health Wales IT teams are responsible for managing firewalls, networks, clinical and administrative server applications, hosting third-party services, and supporting end-user devices, analysers, and medical IoT devices across Wales.

Main Duties
Responsible for the overall progress of competing, complex IT projects and resources
Initiate corrective action as needed to ensure progress
Define clear scope and objectives for programmes and manage interdependencies
Attend stakeholder meetings to communicate upcoming service changes
Collaborate with senior managers and teams to identify service improvement opportunities
Apply project and programme management methodologies

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential:
Postgraduate Diploma level education in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
Evidence of continued professional development
Project/Programme Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP) or equivalent experience

Master’s level qualification
