An exciting Management Accountant opportunity has opened up within the Finance team at ELFT. This role is based in London, and the post holder will be looking after Specialist Services and Specialist Children and Young Peoples’ Services in the Community.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Support the Finance Business Partner in the provision of comprehensive Financial Management service to Directorates.

  • Take direct responsibility for the provision of information, analysis, and advice to a range of budget managers.

Person Specification

Education / Qualification / Training

  • Essential:

    • Professional accountancy qualification Certificate level

    • Degree level or equivalent combination of short courses and experience

  • Desirable:

    • Part Qualified CCAB

Experience

  • Essential:

    • Experience of providing accounting support to budget managers

    • Experience of large-scale general ledger systems

  • Desirable:

    • Oracle financials or similar package

    • NHS Management Accounts experience

    • Some experience of costing and/or preparation of Business Cases

Skills and Abilities

  • Essential:

    • Ability to meet deadlines

    • Ability to make decisions

    • Good oral and written presentation skills

    • Able to translate and effectively communicate financial data to non-finance staff

    • Computer literate, including strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills

    • Good interpersonal skills to deal with senior managers, clinicians, and colleagues

    • Able to identify and interpret key performance issues from raw data

Knowledge

  • Essential:

    • Understanding of the NHS financial regime
