Job Summary
The Business Manager will work across the West IHC Therapy Services as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. Responsibilities include:
Supporting planning, performance, and accountability agendas
Deputising for Senior Leadership Team members when required
Managing improvement projects and coordinating relationships with Health Community, Corporate teams, and wider partners
Maintaining a business view across all West IHC Therapy Services to ensure consistency and collaboration
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main Duties of the Role
Operational Management
Work as part of the Senior Management Team to ensure delivery of operational and performance targets
Leadership & Communication
Motivate staff within the team
Provide leadership support to the Senior Leadership Team
Planning, Performance, Organisation & Project Management
Produce monthly and annual performance reports in collaboration with Service Leads and the Business and Planning Manager
Lead on Health Community Reports as required, working closely with corporate services
Finance
Control expenditure within budgetary responsibility
Manage budgets effectively within the area of responsibility
Service Improvement, Planning & Modernisation
Research and benchmark against national standards and neighbouring Health Boards
Recommend and influence sustainable service improvements
Information & Performance Monitoring
Lead monitoring and performance of Therapy Services teams
Human Resources / Workforce Development
Managerial responsibility for all administrative, secretarial, and clerical staff within the service
Line management responsibility for other staff members as delegated

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential:
Postgraduate management or professional qualification, or equivalent knowledge/experience
ILM Management Level 4 (or equivalent); commitment to achieve within 2 years if not held
PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent (or willingness to achieve within 2 years)
In-depth knowledge across a wide range of Health Board services, systems, and procedures
Thorough knowledge of the NHS and current issues
Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development
Desirable:
Knowledge of information systems
Experience

Significant NHS experience
Experience managing successful change across professional boundaries
Evidence of delivering progress against service development objectives
Multi-agency working at strategic level
Leadership and major change management experience
Experience developing business plans and cases aligned with corporate objectives

Significant financial, human, and capital resource management
