The Business Manager will oversee the development, coordination, and delivery of a diverse range of management and delivery priorities within the portfolio of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Many of these priorities link to wider portfolios of work across the executive group, requiring significant influencing skills and the ability to deliver projects at senior level in a complex environment.

Main Duties of the Job
The postholder will be accountable for key projects that directly support the Trust’s strategy and plans, including:
Supporting delivery of the innovation domain of the Research and Innovation Plan
Assisting the CMO in providing professional leadership to medical leaders within the directorate and across care groups and directorates
Ensuring directorate delivery of operational expectations, including people, risk, and financial management
Collaborating with senior leaders in Nursing and Facilities, and PPT, to ensure an integrated governance approach
Supporting risk management and corporate governance structures led by corporate assurance
Connecting medical education work with wider educational initiatives across the Trust

Qualifications / Experience
Essential
Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject at Masters level or equivalent experience
Significant experience managing complex projects
Evidence of continuing professional development
Extensive knowledge of clinical governance and assurance functions
Experience working across agency and organisational boundaries
Senior management experience in a complex organisation
Multi-agency working experience
Knowledge
Essential
Ability to design and develop systems to manage information across a system, including retrieval and triangulation
Expert-level knowledge of quality and patient safety agenda, supported by theoretical and practical experience
Strong understanding of legislation and government guidance for quality and patient safety
Critical appraisal and analytical skills
