Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Ensure excellent outcomes and provision across all areas and key stages of the school

  • Support the Headteacher in developing and communicating a clear vision and ethos

  • Promote Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and anti-discriminatory practice

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across key aspects of the school’s activities

  • Lead effective self-review processes, contribute to the School Improvement Plan, and monitor its implementation

  • Establish a culture of sharing best practice within the school and across other schools/organisations

  • Oversee provision in linked departments and year groups, ensuring systematic reviews and effective interventions

  • Develop a broad, balanced, and coherent curriculum that meets the needs of all students

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and a safe, well-ordered environment

  • Champion the progress and personal development of vulnerable, disadvantaged, and underachieving groups

  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the school and deputise for the Headteacher when required

  • Ensure statutory safeguarding requirements are met and reflect best practice
