An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated individual to join the Finance Business Partner team at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. The post is supported by Deputy Finance Managers and Management Accountants, working strategically with senior managers and clinicians to drive and support the business decisions of Clinical Directorates.

Main Duties of the Job

The purpose of the role is to support Clinical Divisions to ensure the Trust meets both financial and performance targets by:

  • Working with the Senior Management Team of the Clinical Directorate to develop a Strategic Business Plan.

  • Reporting the financial position of the Division at monthly Directorate Performance review meetings and providing commentary for Trust Board reports.

  • Analysing and interpreting financial and non-financial data with stakeholders, using benchmarking and other resources to make recommendations for improvement and support change.

  • Managing and developing a Deputy Finance Manager, including appraisals and personal development plans.

Person Specification

Education & Qualification (Essential)

  • Degree level qualification.

  • CCAB qualified.

Experience & Knowledge (Essential)

  • Financial management skills.

  • Analytical and presentation skills.

  • Budget management in complex environments.

  • Knowledge of financial processes.

  • Advanced computer skills (modelling, reporting, accounting systems).

  • Experience preparing and presenting financial information to senior managers.

  • Strategic financial planning and delivery.

  • Reporting and monitoring of non-financial information.

  • Staff management and development.

Desirable:

  • Experience of changing processes and maximising IT systems.

  • NHS Capital accounting knowledge.
