Main Duties of the Role
Social workers at Oxfordshire County Council are supported through manageable caseloads, reflective supervision, professional development, and a focus on wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
Focusing on successful outcomes for families using a relational, strengths-based approach.
Using motivational interviewing to support families in making positive changes.
Receiving individual supervision to promote wellbeing and professional growth.
Holding a manageable caseload of no more than 18 children (for experienced social workers).
Taking part in training, webinars, practice learning events, and reflective sessions.
Supporting children and young people when living away from home under the Children’s Act 1989 (S31 and S20).
Helping children achieve permanence via adoption, guardianships, and fostering.
Supporting care plans, including preparing young people for adulthood.
