Job Summary
This is an exceptional leadership opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join the senior Finance leadership team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
The Head of Procurement will:
Lead and support the organisation and East Midlands Ambulance Service in procurement strategy and supply chain processes.
Ensure compliance and value for money across all purchasing activities.
Shape and continuously improve procurement functions.
Work with colleagues internally and across systems to enhance supply chain efficiency and develop a culture of excellence.
Note: Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check.
Standard: £26.40
Enhanced: £54.40
Costs will be deducted from salary over the first 2 months of employment. Enrolment in the DBS Update Service is encouraged (£16 per year).
Main Duties of the Job
Contribute to the delivery of Nottinghamshire Healthcare and East Midlands Ambulance Service strategy and annual priorities.
Lead the procurement function for both Trusts.
Provide professional leadership and advice, ensuring adherence to procurement law and Trust policies.
Represent the Trust at local, regional, and national levels.
Facilitate continuous quality improvement within procurement systems and procedures.

Job Description
Responsibilities
Manage and develop the procurement function, staff, and resources.
Lead responsibility for all procurement processes, ensuring alignment with NHS and statutory guidelines.
Develop and implement Trust-wide policies and performance frameworks.
Deliver a customer-focused Procurement service across East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS).
Accountable for annual Trust procurement audits.
Analyse complex procurement opportunities and assess options within the evolving NHS landscape.
Engage stakeholders, suppliers, and partners using modern change management processes.
Develop and implement long-term strategies aligned with national policy.
Advise the Trust on interpreting and applying national strategy.
Produce monthly reports and procurement performance indicators.
Lead on procurement returns and provide reports to the Executive Team and Board.
Maintain and develop procurement systems including Atamis.
Deliver education and training for managers on procurement procedures.
Lead on efficiency initiatives and Trust-wide procurement strategy development.

Essential: MCIPS qualification
Desirable: Educated to degree level or equivalent
