About the Role
Varioline Group is a well-established and expanding business group with operations across fast food, pharmacy, and other sectors in the UK. The company is seeking an experienced accountant who is enthusiastic, proactive, and able to work efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9 am – 5 pm), based at the Head Office in East London.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with senior managers.
Reconcile nominal accounts and manage month-end processes, including income reconciliations.
Prepare payslips for all company employees and ensure timely submission to HMRC.
Prepare year-end accounts and ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Manage and file VAT, PAYE, end-of-year submissions, and tax returns.
Maintain all company accounts and taxation compliance with relevant HMRC requirements.
Assist operational teams with financial understanding and reporting.
Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business decisions and Director-level reporting.
Attend and occasionally lead senior team meetings, presenting monthly accounts and KPIs while contributing to strategic discussions.
Requirements
Qualified Accountant.
Proven experience (ideally a minimum of 1–3 years post-qualification experience) in accounting or a similar finance role.
Very proficient in accounting-related software and the Microsoft 365 Suite.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
Ability to meet business deadlines and adapt to changing demand.
