Job Summary
An exciting opportunity is available for a talented Data Analyst to join the NLPSS Reporting and Systems Team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves reporting, analytics, systems management, and development across the NLPSS service offering — including Recruitment and Occupational Health.
This position offers a chance to contribute to the direction and strategy of a continually developing shared service. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, ready to collaborate and innovate to meet service needs.
Applicants should have proven delivery experience in a complex reporting and systems environment, ideally with NHS employee systems such as ESR, TRAC, and G2. Proficiency in advanced Excel, SQL, and Power BI is essential, along with strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a flexible approach to supporting data quality improvements.

Main Duties of the Job
Deliver business-as-usual reporting requirements to aid service delivery and monitor performance
Build dashboards and visualisations to bring data to life
Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and insights
Design and run experiments to test hypotheses and measure outcomes
Drive improvements in data quality across NLPSS, partners, and suppliers
Deputise for the Reporting and Systems Lead as required

Person Specification
Communication – Essential
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation delivery
Ability to simplify and communicate complex issues effectively for diverse audiences
Experience – Essential
Experience using NHS systems such as TRAC, ESR, and Occupational Health
Motivated self-starter able to work independently and adapt to change
Proven ability to produce accurate and timely reports (regular and ad hoc)
Desirable:
Project management qualification (e.g., Prince 2, MSP)
Experience in a project matrix environment
Analytical – Essential
Highly numerate with advanced MS Office (particularly Excel) skills
Proficient in SQL and Power BI for data analysis and visualisation
Experienced in analysing complex data to identify root causes and solutions
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Qualifications – Essential
Degree in Systems Analysis and Design, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
