About Lift Columbus (Background)
Lift Columbus has a rich history in specialist education in Chelmsford. Originally formed through the merger of Woodlands School (supporting PMLD and CLD learners) and Hayward School (supporting MLD and autism), the schools federated in 2005 and officially amalgamated in 2009 to become Columbus School and College, now part of Lift Schools.
Today, the school provides education for children and young people aged 3–19, offering:
