Role Summary
The Accounts Officer provides accurate, compliant financial administration for the NextGen Dev programme. This fully remote role ensures that the charity maintains strong financial controls, prepares evidence for grant reporting, and uses funds responsibly to support young people from challenging backgrounds. Working with a non-profit or charity is highly beneficial, and this position directly contributes to positive social impact.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records for all project income and expenditure.
Prepare financial evidence packs for government grant claims.
Track spending against budget and flag risks early.
Support payroll, invoices, receipts, and reconciliation processes.
Ensure documentation meets audit requirements and charity standards.
Work closely with the Programme Manager, HR and external auditor.
Uphold confidentiality, GDPR standards and good governance practice.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience in finance administration, bookkeeping or charity accounts.
Strong organisation and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Understanding of grant funding, compliance or public-sector finance (desirable).
Experience working with non-profits or charities (highly beneficial).
Motivation to support a mission benefiting young people from tough backgrounds.
