The Role
We are looking for a passionate Care Worker to join Southern Housing!
As a Care Worker, you will be part of the team providing person-centred care and support to residents at Byrnhill Grove, Southern Housing’s Registered Care Home in Ventnor. You’ll respond flexibly to their individual needs, assist with intimate personal care as needed, and ensure a safe, secure environment.
Your responsibilities will include following health and safety requirements, delivering care plans, and completing risk assessments. You must be physically able to undertake manual handling and will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Services check.

Key Responsibilities
Provide care to residents as identified in their person-centred care plans, including some intimate personal care.
Promote independence, rights, choice, and inclusion in the community.
Summon professional assistance in the event of an emergency.
Practice in line with Care Quality Commission standards, ensuring residents have up-to-date care plans and risk assessments reflecting individual needs and wishes.
Requirements
5 GCSEs (grades C/9–5) including Maths and English (or equivalent)
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Health & safety awareness
Ability to work as part of a team
Understanding of CQC requirements
Willingness to learn new skills
