Part-time, shift-based (15-hour shifts, 8am–11pm, 1 day on / 2 days off, including sleep-ins as required)
Newport City Council’s Residential Services are currently recruiting Residential Child Care Workers to join dedicated teams across several children’s homes.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of needs, including:
Learning and physical disabilities
Social, emotional, and behavioural challenges
Histories of trauma and adverse childhood experiences
The goal is to create a warm, stable, and family-like environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported. Staff are trained in trauma-informed and attachment-focused care to ensure the highest quality of support.

Working Pattern
15-hour shifts (8am–11pm)

Flexibility to work across different homes within the service
Successful candidates will be assigned a base home but may be required to work across other homes depending on the needs of the children and young people.
