Job Summary
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated individual to join the team of Finance Business Partners at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. Supported by Deputy Finance Managers and Management Accountants, the team works strategically with senior managers and clinicians to drive and support business decisions of the Clinical Directorates.
The successful applicant will be CCAB qualified (or equivalent), educated to degree level (or equivalent), and able to demonstrate continued personal development.
Office presence is expected; the team currently works in a hybrid manner, in agreement with line management and business needs.

Main Duties
The role’s broad purpose is to support Clinical Divisions to ensure the Trust meets its financial and performance targets by:
Working with the Senior Management Team of the Clinical Directorate to develop a Strategic Business Plan for the Division.
Reporting the financial position of the Division at monthly Directorate Performance review meetings and providing commentary for the Trust Board report.
Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to analyse and interpret financial and non-financial data, using benchmarking and other resources to recommend improvements and support change processes.
Line managing and developing a Deputy Finance Manager, including appraisals and personal development plans.

Essential: Degree qualification level
CCAB qualified
Experience & Knowledge
Proven financial management skills
Proven analytical and presentation skills
Knowledge of financial processes
Experience managing budgets in highly complex environments
Advanced computer skills, especially spreadsheets, reporting, and accounting systems
Experience preparing and presenting financial information to senior managers including executive directors
Experience monitoring non-financial information
Evidence of strategic financial planning and delivery
Evidence of staff management skills
Desirable:
Experience in process change and maximising IT benefits
NHS Capital accounting knowledge
