Job Overview
The Contracts Manager will be part of the Contract Management team, supporting the Procurement function in executing the Integrated Care System’s (ICS) procurement strategy.
This position involves directly identifying both contracted and non-contracted spend, providing guidance on best practices in contract management, liaising with key stakeholders, and helping to implement effective contracts with clear metrics.
The post holder will work closely with the Head of Commercial Contract Management to ensure strategic objectives are met and understood across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Provide expert advice and support on all contract-related matters
Manage and review contracts in accordance with legal requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Recommend strategies for addressing specific contractual issues
Process data related to contract KPIs
Work with stakeholders and suppliers to promote contract management best practices
Identify areas of improvement in contract performance
Support procurement in contract development with measurable outcomes
Contribute to the implementation of contract management policies
Team Structure
The Contracts Manager reports directly to the Head of Commercial Contract Management and is a key member of the Procurement team.
This role contributes to the overall goals of the Procurement department and is involved in transformation initiatives as well as post-implementation contract management.
Qualifications
Essential:
Degree or CIPS qualification with specialist procurement and contract management training/experience
Strong knowledge of professional purchasing principles
Understanding of contracting law, procurement, and the tendering process
Desirable:
CIPS Level 4 or higher
Cabinet Office or equivalent training under The Procurement Act 2023
Experience
Essential:
Proven experience in contract, stakeholder, and supplier management
Demonstrated success in a similar role
Working knowledge of contract management principles
Experience engaging with diverse stakeholder groups
Desirable:
Background in negotiating, setting up, and monitoring contracts
Experience in activity modelling, forecasting, market analysis, and business case appraisals
Familiarity with platforms such as Atamis and Advise Inc.
