Job Summary
An exciting opportunity to join Sheffield Children’s as a Finance Business Partner, working with the Care Group Management Team.
The role provides strategic financial leadership to help deliver high-quality clinical services for children and young people.
This is an important time to join the Trust as refreshed clinical strategies and the Value Improvement Programme are being implemented, working with clinical teams to maximise quality and value.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading financial planning, monthly reporting, and business case development.
Driving adoption of service line and patient-level costing.
Helping shape the finance team’s training agenda.
Supporting an inclusive, collaborative culture.
About You
The Trust is looking for a dynamic finance professional with:
CCAB or CIMA qualification (or equivalent experience).
NHS financial and operational knowledge.
Skills in planning, reporting, and analysis.
Communication and influencing skills.
Commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement.
Main Duties of the Job
Reporting to the Finance Director, responsibilities include:
Provide strategic financial advice to the Care Group, aligning with Trust policies and goals.
Lead the annual financial planning cycle and support the development, implementation, and monitoring of business plans.
Deliver monthly financial reporting and forecasting, advising on actions to meet financial targets.
Oversee financial elements of business case development, applying financial appraisal techniques and advising on funding models and risks.
Work with managers and clinicians to identify efficiency opportunities and deliver cost improvement plans.
Drive implementation of service line reporting and patient-level costing, embedding these into routine financial management.
