Are you a highly experienced and confident Executive Assistant ready to take the next step into business and governance leadership?

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is looking for a dynamic and capable Executive Business Manager to join the Corporate Office, working at the heart of one of the largest acute hospitals in the country.

This is a high-profile, fast-paced role supporting the Executive Managing Director (EMD) and Hospital Leadership Team (HLT). You will:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the EMD’s office.

  • Lead a team of Business Administration Officers.

  • Represent the Office of the EMD with professionalism.

  • Manage diaries, governance, events, projects, and communications.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.

  • Advanced MS Office and digital communication skills.

  • NHS or large public sector experience (desirable, not essential).

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the Executive Office.

  • Line manage HLT Business Administration Officers.

  • Support the EMD with business, project, and governance activities.

  • Represent the Executive Office with professionalism to stakeholders.

  • Coordinate high-profile meetings, events, VIP visits, and Board communications.

  • Ensure governance and reporting systems underpin all activity within the EMD’s portfolio.

Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential):

  • Knowledge of a full range of administrative and organisational policies/procedures acquired through training and relevant experience to post-graduate degree level or equivalent.

Skills (Essential):

  • Advanced use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook, MS Teams).

  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise, work under pressure, and manage conflicting deadlines.

  • Excellent communicator across all levels, building credibility and relationships quickly.
