This role sits within the Admin & Clerical Transformation Team, supporting delivery of the A&C Transformation programme as part of the Care Optimisation and Financial Sustainability Plan. The Project Manager will work closely with Care Groups and Corporate Teams to deliver programme objectives.

Key responsibilities include taking ownership of project delivery plans, embedding benefits into business-as-usual, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

Projects may cover a wide range of clinical and non-clinical areas, including transformation, operational and financial performance, service issues, and clinical quality improvement.

Job Description

Leadership / Strategic

  • Provide leadership to projects in partnership with senior stakeholders.

  • Support delivery of ambitious targets to improve Trust performance.

  • Collaborate with staff across divisions to achieve strategic goals.

Project and Programme Delivery

  • Take responsibility for overall project delivery in partnership with subject matter experts.

  • Deliver agreed outputs, outcomes, and benefits.

  • Support solutions based on best practice and efficient use of resources.

  • Work with sponsors to embed changes into practice.

Performance Management

  • Develop and update project plans.

  • Monitor progress and address deviations.

  • Provide assurance reports to sponsors and directors.

  • Lead projects to ensure delivery of actions and benefits.

Quality and Governance

  • Update project plans to maintain delivery.

  • Contribute to governance processes and reporting.

  • Support risk and assurance management.

Communication

  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues.

  • Manage conflicts and sensitive issues in line with Trust values.

Management

  • Provide matrix leadership for project and programme staff.

Person Specification

Training & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Degree in relevant field or equivalent project management experience

  • Project management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or equivalent)

Experience

Essential:

  • Proven project management delivery experience inside or outside NHS

  • Track record of achieving targets in demanding environments

Analytical & Judgement Skills

Essential:

  • Ability to set project plans and adapt with contingencies

Planning & Organisation Skills

Essential:

  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and benefits delivery
