About the Role
North Shropshire Homecare is looking for a caring and compassionate individual to join the team as a Care Assistant, supporting adults in the Wem and surrounding area.
In this role, you will:
Assist adults with personal care
Help with meal preparation
Manage and administer medication
Provide support with shopping and light housework
Deliver palliative care services where needed
This role plays a vital part in helping individuals maintain their independence and dignity within the comfort of their homes. Typical working hours are from 7am – 2pm and 4pm – 9:30pm.
Pay and Benefits
Pay: £13.25 per hour on weekdays, £13.75 per hour on weekends
Higher rates available for those with qualifications in Adult Health and Social Care

Travel time paid at weekday hourly rate (considered working time)
Mileage paid at 40p per mile (fuel & wear and tear)
Higher pay for weekend shifts

Applicants should be available to work weekdays and alternate weekends, either full or half days.
The ideal candidate will be:

Requirements
Female applicants only (due to current service user preferences)
Minimum age: 18 years old
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work
Ability to work alternate weekends
No prior experience required (though preferred)

Education: GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Language: English (required)
Licence/Certification: Driving licence and ability to drive for work (required)
