Job Summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join the Wythenshawe, Trafford, Withington, and Altrincham (WTWA) finance team for 18 months.
The post holder will be based at Wythenshawe Hospital, supporting the Respiratory Division at this challenging but exciting time. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Senior Finance Leadership Team, responsible for using financial and business acumen to support the division’s development and the overall financial strategy.
This role offers the chance to make a real difference by supporting the growth of a complex clinical division, which won the 2025 HFMA Award for Addressing Healthcare Inequalities through NHS Finance Action for its work on the Targeted Lung Health Check programme.
The post holder will report into the Deputy Director of Finance.

Main Duties of the Job
Provide financial leadership to the Divisions, sharing responsibility for overall financial management and performance with Clinical Directors and Divisional Directors.
Ensure production of relevant, accurate, and timely financial advice and supporting information to help Divisions achieve their agreed financial plan.
Lead on strategic and operational finance for the Division, delivering high-level financial expertise to influence decisions.
Act as finance lead in the Divisional performance management structure.
Work closely with Clinical Directors and Directorate Managers to deliver Directorate objectives.
Support Divisions in meeting Trust objectives, including statutory financial obligations.
Increase business expertise within Divisions and support Clinical Directors in all financial matters.
Contribute to the overall objectives of the WTWA Finance Department.
Lead and develop the Divisional Finance Team (three staff).
Deputise for the Deputy Director of Finance when required.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications (Essential)
CCAB or CIMA Qualified
Knowledge (Essential)
Substantial experience in Clinical Finance (or equivalent complex organisation).
In-depth understanding of NHS accounting principles and procedures.
Experience (Essential)
Significant staff management and leadership experience.
Strong team player with the ability to work across diverse disciplines.
Proven record in providing financial information to support effective operations and decision-making.
Experience in identifying, monitoring, and reporting on complex cost improvement programmes.
Strong spreadsheet and software skills.
Skills and Abilities (Essential)
Excellent communication with diverse audiences.
