Main Responsibilities and Duties
The role of the Care Assistant includes, but is not limited to:
Assisting service users to get up, dressed, and prepared for the day.
Washing, bathing, showering, oral care, and personal grooming.
Toileting assistance, including commode use and emptying.
Continence management.
Using manual handling equipment as specified.
Working with other care professionals such as District Nurses and GPs.
Assisting with prescribed medication.
Helping service users go to bed, including undressing and washing.
Preparing meals and assisting with feeding.
Carrying out general household duties.
Bed making and laundry.
Shopping assistance.
Keeping accurate records of care visits.
Escorting service users to various places if required.
Providing companionship when needed.
