Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced manager to join Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust’s Stroke & Neurosciences Directorate as Business Manager.
The Trust is a regional neuroscience centre providing emergency and planned inpatient and outpatient care for a population of over two million across north west London. Services cover the full pathway — from hyper-acute stroke through to specialist neurology clinics.
Based primarily at Charing Cross Hospital, the directorate includes one of London’s Hyper Acute Stroke Units (HASU), which delivers:
Rapid assessment
24/7 thrombolysis (“clot-busting”)
Advanced imaging and vascular, neurosurgical and neuroradiological interventions
The HASU cares for over 1,700 patients annually in a dedicated 20-bed unit, typically for the first 72 hours following a stroke.
The neurology service provides both emergency and elective care across subspecialties such as multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, epilepsy, neuro-otology, headache, cognition and memory, neuromuscular disease, and more.
As part of the stroke pathway, patients may also receive mechanical clot retrieval (thrombectomy) in partnership with interventional neuroradiology. The Trust additionally supports the major trauma centre at St Mary’s Hospital, with outpatient and follow-up services delivered at both Charing Cross and St Mary’s.
