What You’ll Be Doing

As a Support Worker, you will provide personalised care and support to people during their short stays at Kentish Road respite care home. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting individuals in everyday activities, helping them build confidence and skills.

  • Assisting with personal care, medication, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Enabling participation in meaningful activities.

  • Encouraging community engagement and fulfilling experiences.

  • Contributing to care plans tailored to each individual.

  • Maintaining accurate records and effective communication with families and colleagues.

  • Working as part of a team committed to inclusivity, adaptability, and improvement.

Shifts Available

Daytime Support Workers

  • Flexible shifts: mornings, afternoons, long days, and alternate weekends.

  • Potential for split shifts and unsocial hours.

  • Every day is different, requiring adaptability and teamwork.

Nighttime Support Workers (Waking Nights)

  • Providing essential care and support overnight.

  • Working alongside an Enablement Worker.

  • Assisting with personal care, safety, and emergency responses.

  • Maintaining a calm and focused environment for residents.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience or lived experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs.

  • Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate (or willingness to work towards it).

  • Strong communication skills and a positive, inclusive approach.

  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, lone working when needed, or waking night shifts.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: £26,402 – £28,207 per annum (starting salary £26,402 with annual progression).
