Position Details

  • Hours: 35 hours per week

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00

  • Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel to offices in New Milton and Norwich

  • Start Date: November 2025

  • Internet Requirement: Minimum 5 Mbps upload and 15 Mbps download speed

Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a leading role in Appello’s newly established Data & Analytics function. Your insights will directly support strategic and operational decisions, and you will help embed data-driven practices across the organisation.

Key Duties

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Design and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau

  • Deliver actionable insights to senior stakeholders

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis to support strategic initiatives

  • Promote data visualisation and storytelling best practices

Data Quality & Governance

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of business-critical data

  • Develop validation and monitoring processes

  • Support data governance standards

Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Enhance analytical workflows and introduce new tools

  • Automate recurring reports to improve efficiency

  • Stay updated on trends in analytics and BI technologies

  • Support Tableau adoption through coaching and workshops

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with leadership to align data initiatives with business goals

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build data literacy

  • Present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Serve as a trusted advisor for evidence-based decision-making

Candidate Requirements

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a data analyst or related role

  • Proven ability to create dashboards and reports using Tableau or Power BI

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases

  • Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings effectively

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

  • Tableau Certified Data Analyst qualification

Desirable Experience & Certifications

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure Synapse, AWS, BigQuery, Data Lake)

  • Familiarity with workflow automation tools (e.g. Power Automate, Python)

  • Experience in embedded analytics

  • Certifications such as Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900)

Skills & Knowledge

  • Advanced SQL and data modelling expertise

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent data visualisation and communication abilities

  • Knowledge of data quality, governance, and reporting best practices

  • Bonus: Experience with Python, R, DAX, ETL processes, or Microsoft Dynamics 365
