The Neurosciences Clinical Service Unit (CSU) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to appoint a highly motivated individual to the post of Business Manager.
This role is an integral part of the CSU management team, supporting the Neurosurgery and Pain Management teams in all aspects of service delivery. The successful applicant will provide support for the PSC team as well as the consultant and nursing teams within the services.
Experience in an administrative role is recommended but not essential. A working knowledge of PAS, PPM+, and EPRO is desirable, and an understanding of RTT and cancer targets would be beneficial.

Job Description
Job Purpose / Summary
The post holder provides management support to the CSU or a component part of it. Responsibilities include administrative and clerical staff performance, ensuring service delivery within budget and to agreed standards.
The post holder will work with CSU members and senior managers to develop services strategically and operationally, aligning CSU objectives with those of Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.
Key Responsibilities
Devolved responsibility for pay and non-pay budgets within the CSU.
Manage administrative and clerical staff performance, development, and appraisals.
Oversee procurement of medical and scientific capital equipment.
Assist with service and capital planning.
Support CSU capacity and capability development.
Lead projects on behalf of the General Manager.
Deputise for Service or General Managers when required.
Principal Duties and Areas of Responsibility
Manage the CSU Cost Improvement Programme, ensuring financial balance.
Analyse pay and non-pay budgets to identify recurrent savings.
Lead business and service planning aligned with Trust and national policies.
Identify and assess strategic service development options.
Manage waiting lists and ensure targets are achieved.
Develop business cases for service changes, new equipment, or new posts.
Lead and motivate staff across complex environments.
Contribute to Trust-wide initiatives and cross-CSU projects.
Ensure compliance with policies, including Health & Safety, Equality, and Governance.
Oversee performance reports and manage relationships with commissioners.
