Job Overview
Nova Care Solutions is hiring a Registered Nurse (with NMC Pin) to support the clinical management of its care home services. This position includes UK visa sponsorship (Tier 2) for eligible candidates who meet the required conditions.
Responsible to: Care Home Manager
Hours: 40–45 hours per week (including occasional 12-hour shifts and alternate on-call weeks)
Rate of Pay: £20.00 per hour
Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year in the NHS or a nursing home as a Registered General Nurse (RGN)
Job Purpose
The role involves supporting the Care Home Manager by leading the clinical management of the home, ensuring residents receive person-centred care that promotes independence and respects individual rights. The position also requires stepping in for the Manager when absent to maintain the smooth running of the home.
Key Responsibilities
Assume overall responsibility for all clinical matters within the Care Home
Support the management team in providing a safe, homely, and high-quality environment
Cover staff absences (including 12-hour shifts) to ensure continuous care delivery
Follow all company policies and regulatory frameworks
Maintain care practices in line with statutory requirements and evidence-based research
Promote resident participation in care planning and review
Oversee systems for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care
Facilitate communication among all staff grades to ensure care continuity
Liaise with external professionals and family members to enhance resident wellbeing
Report any service shortfalls to the Care Home Manager or designated individual
Administer medications safely in accordance with NMC guidelines
Delegate duties appropriately and monitor staff performance
Advise management on clinical staffing and recruitment needs
Lead infection control, moving and handling, nutrition, and tissue viability management
Provide guidance and training to nurses and care staff
Promote professional development and evidence-based practice among staff
Manage clinical rotas to maintain optimum staffing levels
Ensure efficient use of resources and stock control
Participate in on-call duties for clinical or operational issues when required
Undertake other related tasks to support the Care Home’s efficient operation
Health and Safety
Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
Promote awareness of safety standards among all staff
Report any concerns directly to the Care Home Manager
Night Duty and Visits
This role includes wakeful night duties and night-time visits alongside the Care Home Manager for quality assurance purposes.
Qualifications and Requirements
Registered Nurse qualification with NMC Pin
Relevant experience caring for service users within the independent or healthcare sector
