Job Summary
Living Plus Care Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support to individuals in a home care setting. The role involves assisting service users with daily activities, maintaining their independence, and ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.
Requirements:
Candidates must be UK residents, preferably based in Cambridgeshire, ideally in Ely or surrounding areas.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates already in the UK who wish to switch.
Main Responsibilities
Assist service users with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support individuals with mobility and physical activities to encourage independence.
Communicate effectively to understand service users’ needs and preferences.
Maintain accurate records of care plans, observations, and progress.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
Drive service users to appointments or social activities when required.
Engage service users in conversations and activities to enhance emotional well-being.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations while delivering care.
Support service users with household responsibilities.
Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and training sessions.
Safely manage and record medication as per procedures.
Person Specifications
Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential.
Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
Demonstrates empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence.
Basic IT skills for maintaining digital records.
Understanding of person-centred care principles.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Ability to support individuals who may challenge, while maintaining calm professionalism.
Cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity in all aspects of care.
Note: This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check with satisfactory clearance before the start date.
