A fantastic opportunity is available to join a well-established set of services in Alveston, Thornbury, and Patchway, supporting five gentlemen with learning disabilities and/or autism to live fulfilling and independent lives.

Ancora, located in Alveston, is a small supported living service for three older gentlemen with learning disabilities and/or autism. The home provides a warm, homely environment and is backed by an experienced team, making it a perfect place to learn new skills and gain valuable experience.

In Patchway and Thornbury, Milestones Trust supports two individuals living in their own flats who require 24-hour support.

Key Responsibilities

As a Support Worker, your duties will include:

  • Encouraging positive self-image and maintaining health and wellbeing

  • Assisting with decision-making and promoting independence

  • Supporting individuals to maintain contact with family and friends

  • Enabling access to community activities such as sports clubs, social events, and creative programmes

  • Managing tenancy issues and supporting with daily living tasks

  • Providing personal care and administering medication

Candidate Requirements

The successful Support Worker will:

  • Possess excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrate a caring manner and tolerant nature

  • Be committed to delivering high-quality care

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Be proactive and able to use initiative in problem-solving

  • Show reliability and excellent timekeeping

Flexibility is required to work a variety of shifts across seven days, including sleep-ins.
A valid driver’s licence is preferred but not essential.
