Key Responsibilities
Provide personal care and support, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Help with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
Administer prescribed medication and monitor client health.
Apply behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being.
Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary.
Maintain accurate care documentation and report changes in clients’ conditions to healthcare professionals.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required (driver’s licence and car needed).
Experience and Skills
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar caregiving roles is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is advantageous.
Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial.
A background in nursing or healthcare-related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience in childcare may also be considered relevant.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building rapport with clients.
