Purpose of the Job
Facilitate and encourage learning to help pupils achieve high standards
Share and support the collective responsibility for pupil well-being, education, and discipline
Teachers are expected to meet the Teachers’ Standards and uphold the school’s ethos, policies, and practices under the direction of the Headteacher.
Main Responsibilities
Planning, Teaching, and Class Management
Identify clear teaching objectives and specify how they will be taught and assessed
Set challenging and appropriate expectations
Provide quality feedback with reference to Assessment for Learning
Identify and teach pupils with SEND or exceptional ability
Ensure effective teaching, assessment, and classroom management
Use a variety of teaching methods to promote progress for all pupils
Monitoring, Assessment, Recording, Reporting
Assess learning outcomes and use results to improve teaching
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress
Provide reports to parents and, when required, the Governing Body
Health, Safety, and Discipline
Promote pupil safety and well-being
Maintain good order and discipline following school policies

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Degree
A levels or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications:
KS2 training/teaching experience
SEND training
Skills:
Empathy, integrity, and honesty
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Problem-solving and decision-making skills
ICT proficiency (CPOMS, SIMs, etc.)
Knowledge:
Safeguarding policies and practices
Understanding of how children learn and differentiate instruction
Experience with SEND, attachment, or de-escalation training (desirable)
Experience:
Successful teaching in primary education
Managing challenging behaviour
Positive teaching impact and subject leadership experience
