Full Job Description
Blue Ladder Education is a London-based online learning platform connecting students (mostly base in China) with authentic UK school teachers. Blue Ladder Education provides one-to-one and small-group classes for ages 4–18, covering core subjests such as English, Phonics, Maths, Science, and enrichment subjects.
Position: Online Tutor (British Curriculum)
Subjects Needed (one or more):
English (phonics, vocabulary, grammar, reading, Creative Writing)
Maths
Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
History / Geography
LAMDA
Debate / Public Speaking
11+ / 13+ / GCSE / A-Level preparation
Responsibilities
Deliver engaging 1:1 or small-group online lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum / independent school standards
Prepare tailored lesson plans and resources
Provide regular feedback and progress reports
Communicate professionally with parents when needed
Support exam preparation and academic planning
Maintain consistent weekly availability
Requirements
- PGCE + QTS strongly preferred
- Current or former teacher in a UK independent or outstanding state school
- Confident online teaching skills
- Strong classroom management and clear scaffolding for EAL learners
- Clear, standard English accent (RP or near-RP preferred)
- Strong understanding of UK curriculum standards (EYFS–A Level)
- Stable digital setup (laptop + reliable WiFi)
Nice to Have
Experience working with international/EAL students
Ability to teach multiple subjects
Experience preparing students for entrance exams (7+, 11+, 13+, 16+)
