Main Duties of the Job

  • Ensure all patient activity is accurately recorded and priced according to the National Tariff Payment System (NTPS)

  • Produce high-quality reports and insightful analysis

  • Resolve discrepancies for both internal and external stakeholders

  • Communicate complex financial information to non-finance managers

Requirements:

  • CCAB-qualified (or equivalent relevant experience)

  • Confident in Excel, Access, and SQL

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Willingness to contribute to developing and enhancing income reporting processes

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications (Essential)

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification (CCAB)

  • Continuing professional development

  • Knowledge and expertise in financial management, strategic/staff management, or relevant senior experience in Informatics or Planning

  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Access)

  • Expert in Excel, Access, and SQL database management

Experience (Essential)

  • NHS finance experience, including working with finance and non-finance staff at all levels up to Trust Board

  • Strategic knowledge of NHS commissioning arrangements

  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting and NTPS

  • Senior-level experience in a challenging environment

  • Experience in a similar department

  • Staff management including monthly accounts/reports

  • Costing and pricing of complex business cases

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities (Essential)

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

  • SQL reporting/writing

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure with competing demands

  • Expert keyboard skills

  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures

  • Ability to explain complex financial information to non-finance managers
