Main Duties

  • Support the Redevelopment Capital Delivery Director in capital planning and programme delivery

  • Assist with procurement and contract management to meet cost, quality, and time objectives

  • Collaborate with professional teams on technical assurance, town planning, and business case preparation

  • Coordinate with clinical, estates, and infection prevention teams to ensure operational, research, and educational needs are met

  • Ensure compliance with national priorities, including the New Hospitals Programme, net zero carbon commitments, and Hospital 2.0 guidelines

  • Build relationships across the Trust and with external partners to manage interdependencies and deliver redevelopment goals

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications

Essential:

  • First degree or equivalent in a construction-related profession

  • Postgraduate qualification at master’s level or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Evidence of continuous education and training

  • Diploma in Project Management

  • Prince 2 Project Management qualification

  • Formal DH Project Directors accreditation

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience managing senior teams, operational budgets, and multiple construction/refurbishment projects

  • Proven track record of leading complex organisational change

  • Budget management experience, including pay, non-pay, and capital identification/delivery

  • Experience working with the Department of Health and HM Treasury

  • Understanding of NHS corporate governance and controls assurance requirements

Desirable:

  • Senior-level experience in a complex public sector organisation

  • Knowledge of performance management methodologies and processes

  • Experience using ProCure22 (P22) framework for NHS capital schemes

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Essential:

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills across internal and external boundaries

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills

  • Business acumen with strong commercial knowledge

  • Extensive experience working across health systems at or near Board level

Desirable:

  • Confident and positive approach to work
